FORGIVE ME. I know, I know, I'm a complete loser for not writing a post last week. I completely blanked. And as Sister Willoughby's favorite quote says, "Any excuse, not matter how valid, always weakens the character!" So instead of making some clever excuse, I'll just "repent" and try my best to write a really good post this week instead.
Things are going great here in Kitchener. The work has been a little slower than it was a few months ago, but we're still seeing a lot of cool miracles and I'm finding something new to write down each day for my Gratitude Jar. Yay for little (and big) blessings! Like awesome investigators who will be getting baptized this month! Happy Happy Happy.
Something that our mission president has been emphasizing with us (and something that several of the apostles have been emphasizing with him in mission president training) is the importance and power of family history work. Learning about our ancestors is so important and it brings so many blessings into our lives. Honestly, I wish I could spend more time doing my own family history, but for now I'll just help other people do their own and wait till I get home to get cracking on mine. I am so taking a family history course when I get back out to BYU!
On a not so spiritual note, the weather this week has been CRAZY! On Monday, we had had such a huge snow storm that our car got caught in the snow entering into the church parking lot. It took 6 people to push the car out. Thank goodness that the moment we got stuck in the snow, two other sets of missionaries drove by and that a random husband and wife pulled over at the same time to help. Heavenly Father watches out for us! Then, on Tuesday the temperature dropped down to -45C (about -49F) with windchill. Ouch. By Saturday, the temperature had jumped up to 8C (about 46F). So that was fun.
Hope all is going well and take care!
Love,
